Dave asked me how one would make mustard BBQ sauce
Good lord, man, I’d have no idea. You greatly overestimate my culinary skills. I like to make it the old fashioned way, by going to a restaurant.
I can tell you there’s usually cider vinegar in it as well as the mustard. The one on Simply Recipes seems to be decent, and the one on DiscoverSouthCarolina seems interesting at least, with beer as an ingredient.
Next time I come up to the city I’ll bring some bottles for you.
So I’m throwing a party this weekend…
Has anyone ever heard of HouseParty? It’s a business that hosts sponsored parties. You apply to host, and if you’re chosen, they send you a party pack with the sponsored product and other goodies. Essentially, it’s a big old party commercial. It’s what the condom party I went to was all about.
WELL.
I was chosen to hostess the Budweiser Ultimate Backyard BBQ House Party! Which is hilarious, as I don’t drink Budweiser, have a backyard or own a BBQ grill. (But I’ve got a GREAT grill pan for the stove.) They sent a party pack with frisbees and tee-shirts and coozies and even Budweiser BBQ sauce. They can’t send beer, so they sent coupons for beer and a gift card to spend on it.
My problem now is that I haven’t the faintest idea what to make for food. Along with the beer coupon, there’s a Johnsonville brats coupon and I’ll get burgers but what else?
As Caitlin and Kristin heard, I catered my brother’s college graduation party to a rousing success last year. There were a whole lot more people at that one, though, and I had more time to plan. Also I’m pretty sure the menu for that is too high class for a Budweiser BBQ. Espresso crusted filet mignon on gorgonzola crostini, for instance, won’t pair too well with Bud Light. (Though I’m tempted to make it anyway because it’s fucking delicious,)
What are your favorite BBQ recipes?
